Results of the 2012 survey of users' satisfaction with library services, resources and facilities

LibQUAL+® 2012

LibQUAL+® is a rigorously tested web-based survey created by the Association of Research Libraries that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library.

The PCOM Library administered surveys in 2003, 2007, and 2012. Why? To communicate with users and solicit direct feedback, to measure and report performance, to monitor change longitudinally, to measure effects of change on users perceptions, and to gather data on which to base action plans for future services and resource development.

LibQUAL+® is all about users' expectations. What are users' minimum and desired levels of service? Where do library services and resources fit on that scale of user expectations?

For information on the development, validation, and utilization of the survey, visit the LibQUAL+® website.

Analyses by Campus and Discipline

LibQUAL+® measures service levels and quality across three dimensions: Affect of Service, Information Control, and Library as Place. In addition to the overall analysis, PCOM received separate analyses by campus and discipline (Biomedical Sciences, Forensic Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant Studies, Psychology).

Survey Review Documents

PCOM LibQUAL+® 2012 Survey Summary Report reviews overall and specialized analyses by campus and discipline (Biomedical Sciences, Forensic Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant Studies, Psychology).

Adequacies, Inadequacies, and Proposed Actions identifies areas that require study and improvement. It is an action plan for development of library services and resources based on users’ responses.

Minimum, Desired and Perceived Overall Scores for all PA, GA and Health Sciences Participants with Summary Results Posted Prior to August 1, 2012 shows PCOM scores in the context of other 2012 LibQUAL+® participants’ scores.
