Faculty Resources

This guide provides documentation that will help faculty utilize select library resources for instruction.

Aquifer

Aquifer is a growing compendium of online educational programs—including over 150 continually updated virtual patient cases, teaching resources and assessment tools.

The PCOM Library offers access to the following modules:

Faculty interested in using Aquifer should email library@pcom.edu (PA Campus) or galibrary@pcom.edu (GA Campus) to request Instructor status.

Aquifer Curriculum Integration

Blending virtual patients to enhance clinical experiences is more effective than traditional methods alone, but simply making the cases available to students is not enough. Thoughtful integration is critical. With more time for personalized teaching and active learning, faculty can further assist students to link factual knowledge to patient cases, deepen their understanding, strengthen clinical reasoning skills, and generalize from one patient to another.

See the Aquifer educators page for more information on how to integrate MedU into your curriculum.

If any questions or help is needed please email library@pcom.edu (PA Campus) or galibrary@pcom.edu (GA Campus).
