Interprofessional Education - Evaluation

This document provides a summary and overview of the following IPE evaluation instruments: ATHT, CSCD, IEPS, ITPS, RIPLS.

This article identifies and reviews 33 IPE evaluation instruments for their context with Barr/Kirkpatrick's hierarchy of IPE learner outcomes, the comprehensiveness of current evaluation strategies, and gaps which need to be addressed.

Contains a variety of measurement tools that can be used to assess individual learners, groups, teams, practice environments, and organizations.

This article discusses and contains the adapted version of the ATHT scale - the Attitudes Towards Interprofessional Education Scale.

Article contains the modified Attitudes Toward Health Care Teams Scale in Table 1 and the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale in Table 2.

The CSCD contains six questions measuring the critical attributes of collaboration (scored on a 7-point Likert-type scale ranging from "strongly disagree" to "strongly agree"), one question assessing the global measure of collaboration, and two questions measuring satisfaction (scored on a 7-point Likert-type scale ranging from "not satisfied" to "satisfied").

The ICAR is a competency-based assessment rubric designed for health and social care students and providers. It measures communication, collaboration, roles and responsibilities, a patient/family-centered approach to care, conflict management/resolution, and team functioning.

This tool captures healthcare students' self-reported attitudes and beliefs about interprofessional education and collaborative practice. Items were based on an existing tool the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS) and the four domains of the 2011 IPEC Core Competencies for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice.

This articles provides the original instrument and sub-scale for IEPS, but offers alternative sub-scales for consideration in use in IPE programs.
