Key Neuroscience and Neurology Journals
-
Acta NeuropathologicaActa Neuropathologica aims to publish the best papers on pathology of neurological disease, as well as experimental studies on molecular and cellular mechanisms using in vitro and in vivo models, ideally validated by analysis of human tissues. The journal publishes Original Papers, Review Articles, Case Reports, and Scientific Correspondence (Letters).
-
Annals of NeurologyThe Annals of Neurology publishes articles of broad interest in neurology, particularly those with high impact in understanding the mechanisms and treatment of diseases of the human nervous system.
-
BrainBrain has published landmark papers in clinical neurology and translational neuroscience since 1878.
-
JAMA NeurologyJAMA Neurology is an international peer-reviewed journal for physicians caring for people with neurologic disorders and those interested in the structure and function of the normal and diseased nervous system.
-
Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and PsychiatryJNNP's ambition is to publish the most ground-breaking and cutting-edge research from around the world. Encompassing the entire genre of neurological sciences, our focus is on the common disorders (stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, peripheral neuropathy, subarachnoid haemorrhage and neuropsychiatry), but with a keen interest in the Gordian knots that present themselves in the field, such as ALS. With early online publication, regular podcasts and an immense archive collection (with the longest half-life of any journal in clinical neuroscience), JNNP is a trail-blazer and not a follower.
-
Lancet NeurologyThe Lancet Neurology publishes interesting and informative reviews on any topic connected with neurology, and considers any original research contribution that advocates change in, or illuminates, neurological clinical practice. Topics include, but are not limited to: Cerebrovascular disease; Dementia/Alzheimer’s disease; Epilepsy and seizures; Genetics; Headache and migraine; Neurological infections; Motor neuron disease/amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; Movement disorders; Multiple sclerosis; Neuromuscular disorders; Peripheral nerve disorders; Paediatric neurology; Sleep disorders; Trauma; Neurological tumours.
-
Molecular NeurodegenerationMolecular Neurodegeneration is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that encompasses all aspects of neurodegeneration research at the molecular and cellular levels. Neurodegenerative diseases collectively refer to neurological disorders that result from neurodegeneration and include, but are not limited to, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and prion diseases. These diseases, which are often associated with advanced aging and display varying degrees of dementia, have become a significant public health issue as humans live longer and the aging population grows larger. Recent advances in the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of these neurodegenerative disorders have allowed for a better understanding of the disease mechanisms.

Nature Reviews NeurologyNature Reviews' clinical content is written by internationally renowned clinical academics and researchers and targeted towards readers in the medical sciences, from postgraduate level upwards. While intended to be read by practicing doctors, researchers and academics within a specialty, we aim to make all our articles accessible to readers working in any medical discipline. In-depth Reviews present authoritative, up-to-date information on a topic, placing it in the context of a field's history and development. Topical discussion and opinions are proffered in Perspectives and News & Views articles, and in the Research Highlights section we filter primary research from a range of specialty and general medical journals.

Neuro-OncologyPublished monthly from January 2010, Neuro-Oncology is the official journal of the Society for Neuro-Oncology. Also affiliated with the Japan Society for Neuro-Oncology and the European Association of Neuro-Oncology it is a truly global journal in the field. Dedicated to providing superior and rapid publication of information in all areas of neuro-oncology, the journal contains peer-reviewed articles and reviews, symposia on selected topics, published abstracts of annual meetings, and society news and announcements from around the world.
